Marissa Blair

Marissa Blair is a performance artist and theatre-maker from Mont Clare, Pennsylvania. She studied acting at West Chester University, earned a bachelor’s degree from The New School, and an MA in Performance Studies from New York University where she began developing documentary drama methods under tutelage of Anna Deavere Smith. Marissa has performed at various NYC venues: La Mama, The Public, MoMA PS1, HERE Arts Center, Abron's Art Center, Deitch Studios, Dixon Place, PS 122; in festivals Performa, Art In Odd Places, DUMBO Arts Festival, Bushwick Open Studios; and has performed for the past 10 years with Ann Liv Young Dance Company appearing in NYC and international tours of Sherry Show, Elektra Cabaret and Mermaid Show. Marissa has directed theatre performances including Antonin Artuad’s SPURT OF BLOOD, Endgame, The Dumb Waiter, All My Sons, Sylvia, and has written, produced and performed in original works including The Celebrity Obsession (Montreal Fringe 2020), TRIPTYCH (Festival Bete Noire 2020), 15 DEATHS in 15 MINUTES (Festival Bete Noire 2019). She appeared in Daughters of Mile End (Labyrinth Theatre Co) at D.B.Clarke Theatre in Montreal, was a participant of the Jewish Arts Mentorship Program (J.A.M.) 2020-2021 at Segal Centre, is Artistic Director and Co-Founder of Montreal performance company Mad Paradox, and manages a non-profit studio space Espace Freestanding Room in Montreal.
